Detour De France - Deluxe Edition

DETOUR DE FRANCE offers a fascinating look inside the world's biggest annual sporting event. The film focuses on three Australians reporting on the world famous cycling event. All three bring a larrikin humour to their antics, which propels the film from mere reportage to something more akin to attending a sporting event with 'the boys'. Dan Jones' documentary debut provides a uniquely Australian perspective and follows the fortunes of the 2005 Tour de France and Lance Armstrong's amazing last ride. Taking a layman-friendly approach, Detour de France introduces audiences to the nuances of the event explaining terminology, strategy and the mechanics of the race prologue and time trials. Featuring interviews with cycling luminaries such as Lance Armstrong, Cadel Evans, Bernard Hinault, Phil Liggett, Robbie McEwen and Stuart O'Grady, plus appearances by assorted celebrities including director Ron Howard, singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow and presidential candidate John Kerry, Detour de France provides a fascinating insight into a classic sporting event.
