Poker Night deals a killer hand

Written and directed by Greg Francis, Poker Night, an independent thriller released by Eagle Entertainment will be out on DVD February 17. Boasting a powerhouse cast that includes the likes of Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Ron Perlman (Sons of Anarchy) and Titus Welliver (Bosch), the movie follows the descent into hell for a promoted detective Stan Jeter (Beau Mirchoff) who has been initiated into the clandestine ranks of the police force in Warsaw, Indiana. After listening to the entertaining war stories of his colleagues all night he leaves for home only to be kidnapped by a masked psychopath on his way to answer a police dispatch.

Jeter soon finds himself locked in a basement with another captive, a girl.

Tortured for weeks Jeter, through flashbacks, commences to relive the stories told by the veteran detectives over the titular event. He soon comes to believe that recalling the experiences of his colleagues will enhance his knowledge and ability to escape.

"It's dark and demented humour at its best," Horrortalk.

"As a whole it delivers decent brutal and bloody fun," notes Screen Connections, "a somewhat intriguing mystery and a powerful cast composed of numerous extremely talented individuals."
