Fred Williamson headlines 2015 Monster Fest


Legendary cult and blaxploitation actor Fred Williamson will be one of the guests of this year's Monster Fest. Williamson, the star of 1970s movies Black Ceasar and Hammer both of which will screen as bookends for a Blaxploitation all night movie marathon will also participate in a live Q&A.

Monster Fest has announced the opening night film will be Scare Campaign from the Cairnes Brothers who last directed 100 Bloody Acres. The closing Night film will be Eli Roth's latest Knock Knock, starring Keanu Reeves in a home invasion thriller.

Dee Wallace, the star of The Stepford Wives, The Howling, E.T and The Hills Have Eyes will also be a guest of the festival and will discuss the highlights of her varied and expansive career as an actress. A midnight screening of Joe Dante's The Howling will showcase Wallace at her best. She will also host an acting masterclass and workshop.

Other guests include Butch Patrick better known as Eddie Munster of the top rating TV classic. Fans of the show can take part in weekend long celebration of all things Munsters.

Also on offer is a screening of Wolf Creek which celebrates its 10 anniversary. Pod, German Angst and Haunt, all of which will be available to buy at retail will receive screenings.

The event takes place November 26-29 at the Lido Cinemas in Melbourne.
