Harvey Keitel and Forest Whitaker headline Janurary border western

Eagle Entertainment will ring in the New Year with Two Men in Town a modern western Slant Magazine notes is "wonderfully performed by the superb cast." Featuring an all-star cast that includes Forest Whitaker, Harvey Keitel, Ellen Burstyn, Brenda Blethyn and Luis Guzman, the movie will be available on Blu-ray and DVD January 13, 2016.

Paroled after serving 18 years for murder, William Garnett (Whitaker) returns home to a desert town determined to start again empowered by his faith in Islam which he discovered in prison. He soon finds a job and a date but everywhere he goes he is dogged by the single-minded local sheriff (Keitel). The Sheriff refuses to believe Garnett, who killed one of his deputies, can be reformed.
Aided by a sympathetic parole officer, Garnett sets about atoning for the past leading a law abiding existence of discipline and humility. Soon with a former associate from the underworld back in town and the Sherriff breathing down his neck something has got to give.

A stylish remake of 70s crime movie, Two Men in Town updates its scenario to the Badlands of the border region where an influx of immigrants arrive from Mexico every day and the corruption and violence that follows in its wake. Directed by Rachid Bouchareb who made the acclaimed London River, Two Men in Town was nominated for the prestigious Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival. Given the growing relevance of refugees and illegals across the globe the film is very much in conversation with other contemporary explorations of what it means to be alien, how laws are executed in such a grey area and the immoral solutions to very moral issues as seen in the likes of shows like The Bridge and more recently in Sicario.

"Blethyn is wonderful as an all-too-rare character," writes Sherilyn Connelly in the Village Voice, "a middle-aged woman who holds her own in a position of authority over violent men."
