Starry Eyes explores the horror of Hollywood Babylon


Winner of the Director's Award at the Boston Underground Film Festival, Starry Eyes from writer-directors Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer follows a hopeful young starlet who uncovers the sinister origins of the Hollywood elite before entering into a deadly agreement in exchange for fame. Monster Pictures is releasing the film on Blu-ray and DVD March 18.

Sarah Walker spends her days working a dead-end job determined to make it in Hollywood as an actress. Countless casting calls have not yielded her an opportunity. After a series of strange auditions with a mysterious casting duo, Sarah finally gets her big break and
lands a leading role in her newest film.

Unfortunately for her, this coveted opportunity comes with bizarre ramifications which will leave Sarah transformed into something both beautiful and terrifying.

Clark Colliss writing for Entertainment Weekly notes "Horror fans should keep their eyes on the filmmakers - and Essoe, who gives a star-making performance."

Simon Abrams writing online for compares it to the grindhouse ready Satanic Panic films such as To the Devil a Daughter and The Devil Rides out. "As gory as it is corrosively cynical" he observes, "a supernatural mood piece that's equally influenced by the arthouse horror movies of David Lynch and Roman Polanski and the grindhouse-ready Satanic Panic films of the '70s."
