Armed and Dangerous

If it's extreme cinema you're after this November than look no further than Gun Woman. Monster Pictures are releasing Blu-ray and DVD versions of Kurando Mitsutake's exploitation-revenge thriller November 19. It's not for the squeamish.

A brilliant doctor driven mad by his son's murder at the hands of mobsters, plans his revenge by 'acquiring' a mute young woman to train as the ultimate assassin, implanting gun parts in her body that she must later assemble and use to kill her target before she bleeds to death. Uh huh. And yes it has an awards pedigree having claimed the Special Jury Prize at the Yubari International Film Festival. Alternating between English and Japanese dialogue, the format suited to those who speak at least one of each language, Gun Woman provides nudity and buckets of blood, usually together in what Twich Film calls a crime thriller that "rises above its budgetary limitations in suitably sleazy style."

"Asami gave an utterly fearless performance as Mayumi," notes Nav Qateel in 1nFlux, "especially being bare-assed naked for a majority of the time she was on screen."
