British actress Andrea Riseborough has been named Best Actress at the 40th Evening Standard British Film Awards. During a busy award season for Riseborough, 31, whose haunting portrayal of an IRA terrorist forced to turn against her own family in James Marsh's Shadow Dancer, she was also recently nominated as a BAFTA Rising Star and has also landed a major role in the new Tom Cruise epic sci-fi thriller Oblivion.

Riseborough beat out more fancied stars Charlotte Rampling and Alice Lowe in the Evening Standard British Film Awards. Skyfall claimed the prize for Best Film.
